Top Fuel Dragster
Two winners at Alastaro. With only the final to go, one thing was for sure, Alastaro would have a Finnish winner in Top Fuel and although Antti Horto can be seen as the winner after Tommy Johnson Jr.’s exclusion last year.

Pro Modified
Is Bruno Bader getting the jitters? Twice now in succession, the usually steady Swiss racer has ended races with red lights. Bader still leads the FIA Pro Mod Championship at the season’s halfway point but the advantage he established with a commanding victory at Santa Pod’s opening round has been whittled down to just 23 points after two more events. If he has slipped from contention by season’s end, might his brace of cherries at Tierp and Alastaro be seen as the turning point?

Top Methanol Dragster
6 teams on site to compete in the methanol dragster class at Alastaro and
impressive to see both Maltese teams hade taken the long trip from the
island of Malta in the Mediterrenean sea to Finland.. an estimated
driving distance of 3790 km.. one way!

Top Fuel Bike
Four riders entered for the FHRA Nitro Nationals Top Fuel Bike category; Ian King (UK) Rikard Gustafsson and Nils Lagerlöf (Sweden) and domestic rider Kai Selkämaa who has not been competing in the previous two championship rounds. .

Super Twin Bike
11 riders on site to compete for an 8 bike elimination ladder. 7 of the competitors was also on home turf at Alastaro. Finland is currently the biggest nation in number of championship teams in the Super Twin Bike category.

Pro Stock Bike
The qualifications started decent for Ulf Ögge already during session #1. Ögges 7.17 sec was good for the number one spot until Fredrik Fredlund entered the track during session #2. The 7.079 sec run by Fredlund was not only the the quickest of all during the qualifications but also only one thousand of a second slower than Dave Becks European ET record set in 2009!.
