Race preview Kunmadaras
We asked UEM Drag Bike Championship
promoter and Trakbak CEO Keith Bartlett to share some reflections on the
upcoming event at Kunmadaras April 28th-May 1st. This very special event
where Trakbak and Santa Pod Raceway key staff fly in from the UK to
prepare and run the spectacular and crowd pleasing show in the country of
Hungary and with Kunmadaras a few hours drive outside the capital of
Budapest.

Super Twin
Ground shaking
Super Twin is nitro racing at its very best – loud, groundshaking and spectacular. Last year a season-long battle was decided in the last race when, out of three title candidates, Lorenz Stäuble took the crown. In Hungary (28th April-1st May) they all have to start from scratch once more, and don’t be surprised to see the championship battle last until the Euro Finals yet again.

Top Fuel Bike
UEM Top Fuel Bike got off to a gentle start in 2010, but came to a drama packed climax with rookie Petri Paljakka taking the championship by a mere two points at the European Finals at Santa Pod back in September. After a winter’s break to take stock, it looks as if we’ll see a comparatively subdued first couple of rounds as many of the heavy hitters will join the tour for the Scandinavian events during the summer.

Oliver Azzopardi Smart Racing
Ten years after Manty Bugeja and John Ellul surprised the European drag racing world with their heroic driving and stunning results, the Maltese are back. Oliver and Edmund Azzopardi and their Smart Racing team will take up the challenge and enter the 2011 FIA European Top Methanol Dragster Championship. It’s a most welcome return and a boost for European drag racing in general and sunny southern Europe in particular.

Lex Joon
MPM Oil Racing
Almost twenty months after it had left the workshop in Zaandam, Lex Joon’s MPM Top Fueler is back home again. When the container was opened, a sigh of relief could be heard as the car, parts and tools were all in good order after the long trip from the States. At this moment Kevin Poynter, the team’s American tuner and crew chief, is working around the clock to prepare the MPM trailer and Top Fueler to meet the season’s demands when they arise.
