Top Fuel Bike Preview
The Top fuel bikes will be competing over the 1/8th mile at Mantorp Park. Eight teams are entered and it means there is room for everyone in the 8-bike elimination ladder.
Main Event winner Steve Woollatt is not entered at Mantorp, but Alastaro winner Petri Paljakka is and he is very eager to win again. His bike went 4.225 seconds when ridden by Ian King last year at Mantorp Park and qualified #3, what can it do with Paljakka´s in the saddle this time?

Jaska Salakari had a hectic weekend at Alastaro, running in both Super Twin and Top Fuel Bike, ending runner-up in the latter. The work load did not scare him and he has entered in both classes at Mantorp as well. Jaska did not enter in Top Fuel Bike at Mantorp last year, but our guess is he will be able to use tuning data from the Super Twin bike as the two set-ups are very similar.

Swedish team Billet Racing, with rider Peter Svensson make their first championship appearance this season and are attempting to set a new record at Mantorp. He set a European ET and speed record here last year with 4.061 sec. and 304.71 kmh (189.34 mph). The speed on the backup run was even quicker at 310.97 kmh (193.23 mph) we just have to say... wow!!

Top Fuel Bike

During recent tests at Malmö, Peter ran 4.07 sec. over the 1/8th mile and set a new track record of 307 kmh (190.80 mph). That shows Svensson has the potential to do it, the only question is if the Mantorp Park track will be in a state for records setting after the work that has been done on it. Hopefully it will…

Main Event runner up Kai Selkämaa did not have the best race of his life at his home track in Alastaro. Last year at Mantorp he qualified 6th quickest and went out of competition against Ian King in the quarter finals. There's no King in competition this time, but with his bike in the hands of Petri Paljakka there must be a shadow of doubt in the back of his mind.

No #1 qualifier in 2009 was Peter Svensson, with a 4.089 sec/304.71 kmh (189.37 mph) pass. The Bump spot then was 5.25 (Otto Knebl). The final was meant to be between Sverre Dahl and Rickard Gustafsson but it was rained out. While Rickard running is in Funny Bike this year and isn´t competing at Mantorp, Dahl is among the entrants and our guess is he would be happy to find himself in the final again, only this time without a rain out.
