The Track Side Service staff know all about personal safety equipment, and Simpson Race Products is a world-leading brand. In America, the trackside service concept has been a familiar presence at NHRA races for many years. Drivers, riders and teams there are able to buy what they need within the pit area, only a short distance from their own pit space. For the first time outside the USA, Simpson Race Products has established a complete Track Side Service operation through its Swedish distributor. The Track Side Service is provided at Scandinavia´s major races and also at August's FIA Championship event at the Hockenheimring in Germany.

The track delivery service provided by Simpson´s Swedish distributor began in 2005. It was launched to serve customers who had placed last-minute orders for safety equipment too late for home delivery. As Simpson Sweden's proprietor Jan Phersson (JP, as he is widely known) was a racer himself, he found it easy delivering to customers at the track. As word spread, more people started showing up at JP´s pit space requesting helmets, harnesses and other safety equipment. There was only space in JP´s race bus to carry pre-ordered items, so he decided to expand the operation and open a proper trackside service shop at the races.

JP's 12-metre bus which served as car transporter and crew accommodation was replaced by a Tooterhome and semi-trailer able to carry enough storage to supply two events alongside his own pair of race cars.

Racing in Scandinavia has developed enormously in recent years, bringing new levels of regulation which have produced, in turn, a natural demand for improved competence in personal safety equipment. Simpson Sweden specialises in motorsport safety gear at a professional level. Having his own roots in racing, JP is dedicated to personal safety in motorsport and, as one of the most experienced safety gurus in Scandinavia, is often asked to provide lectures and education on the subject. Among the listeners are official organisations, event promoters, technicians, track owners, teams, drivers and riders. Racing's off-season period from October to February usually allows for 10-15 lectures within Scandinavia.
