Pro Stock Bike Preview
Two names have dominated the race finals of the UEM Pro Stock Bike class so far this season; Sweden´s Ulf Ögge and Norway´s Kenneth Vik. While Ögge runs his own team, Vik is part of the high-profile VEIDEC Racing team operated by Roger Lyrén (don't miss the article about the VEIDEC Racing team in the newsletter).
Ögge is the reigning class champion and leading the 2010 championship points lead going into the VEIDEC Festival (read what he has to say in the separate article under 'Talking with Racers'). But at Mantorp Park last year the luck wasn't on Ögge´s side and he lost a close race in the first round to Anders Abrahamsson.

There are many more great racers and potential winners in the class. Fredrik Fredlund was second in the championship last year, but has yet to reach the winners circle this season. European record holder Dave Beck did not race at Alastaro and is somewhat behind in points, but is a strong contender anytime and will be one to watch at Mantorp Park next week. Gert-Jan Laseur was runner-up at the Main Event and must be considered a force to reckon with. In addition, there is Jesper Thiel, Karl-Heinz Weikum and Dave Bishop.. check the entry list for all these potential winners!

Pro Stock Bike

At last years VEIDEC Festival, Kenneth Vik and Anders Abrahamson should have been in the rained out final. The low qualifier was Fredrik Fredlund with 7.41 sec/287.47 kmh. The bump spot was high, with 8 riders entered for 8 spots in the ladder. This year is a completely different story, as 17 riders compete for those 8 spots – everyone will have to try a lot harder to make the field.

One of the most popular riders next week will be Sweden´s female rider Gabriella Nikolovska, she has strong support on her home track and is a great ambassador for the class. Will her new engine take her anywhere in the competition? We will just have to wait and see...
