Ulf Ögge
PRO STOCK BIKE

Reigning Pro Stock Bike champion Ulf Ögge, arrives at the Mantorp Park scene with three (!) consecutive wins in the luggage. Three out of three says something. Ögge and crew are confident and skilled. The atmosphere in the team is calm, but warm with a lot of laughing and joking (and a lot of good food as Ögge himself is an excellent chef as well).

He says that much of the team's success comes from skills and routine. Ögge finds it great fun to race at Mantorp and appreciates the big crowd the event always attract. He says for the bikes Mantorp Park have not proven to be among the fastest tracks, but nevertheless it is an event he very much looks forward to.

Ulf Ögge is currently ahead in the UEM championship points standings by about 5 rounds, which is quite a lot although 3 events including Mantorp still remains. - We will do our best to run quick at Mantorp, he says and we have thoughts to run some tests at the Malmö track the weekend before Mantorp as well. Ögge brings up the fact that Dave Beck, which he considers a strong opponent, will be entering at Mantorp after having been absent for the race in Finland. Beck is in hold of the European record ET with 7.078 sec (set at Santa Pod 2009). Ögge ran a best of 7.14 in England and 7.15 in Finland.

16 Pro Stock Bike riders on the entry list for the race at Mantorp Park, competing for 8 spots in the elimination ladder and Ögge thinks the tough competition will provide a real good show at Mantorp.

Low qualifier 2009 at Mantorp was Fredrik Fredlund with a 7.41. Ögge himself was #6 with 7.85 sec. It seems rather risk free to bet he will be able to improve that big time during the coming week. Last year Ögge lost in the first round to Anders Abrahamson by 0.0062 sec (or 49 cm), that's the kind of tight racing the Pro Stock Bike teams are spoiling the spectators with quite often. It will be real interesting to see what this year's edition of the VEIDEC Festival will show performance wise from Ögge, Beck, Vik and the other top contenders in the Pro Stock Bike class.
