Pro Stock Bike Preview
Don’t be surprised if Pro Stock Bike is the most competitive class this season. In Hungary, reigning champion Ulf Ögge won the race but at least six other riders might compete for the championship.
At Kunmadaras, eighteen Pro Stock Bikes entered the event including riders from Greece and Hungary. In 2009, Ulf Ögge won the title with his beautiful Buell. Fredrik Fredlund, the 2008 champion, had some bad luck but, this winter, did everything he could to find some extra power. Anders Abrahamsson showed his old form at the end of last season and could do even better in the newly formed Veidec team, his potential already displayed in Hungary. In eliminations, the Swede put 7.24 and 7.25-second ETs on the scoreboard and looked a winner until a red light in the semi-final ended his race. Kenneth Vik was the surprise finalist in Hungary. The Norwegian wasn’t the fastest man on track but was fast enough to win his elimination rounds.

And keep your eyes on Jesper Thiel. The reigning European Super Twin Top Gas champion purchased the 2007 European Championship-winning, ex-Tom Tinndahn G2 Buell -- a champion rider on a proven winning bike with its former owner as the tuner! How much time will it take to see this Danish team on the podium? Not long, perhaps, because in Hungary Thiel was the quickest man in qualifying! It will also be interesting to see how soon Karl Lyrén, son of Veidec PSB team leader Roger Lyrén, gets up to speed in his maiden season. With so many new talents in the class, Pro Stock Bike looks more interesting than ever.
