Pro Mod Preview
Last year’s Main Event was blessed with perfect weather conditions resulting in a capacity crowd and stunning performances. No fewer than seven European records were set! In Pro Modified, Andy Robinson took the win by defeating former European champion Urban Johansson. To say last year’s Main Event was filled with action is an understatement. In round one of eliminations, Dutch Pro Mod title favourite Robert Joosten rolled his Corvette, which ended up on its roof at the finish line. The driver was unharmed but Joosten’s car was so badly damaged that it was the end of his season.
This year's competition in Pro Modified will be tougher than ever and perhaps ten contestants have the potential to win the championship. Mats Eriksson made history last year with Europe’s first five-second run and starts as favourite, but will he be able to do the same all over again?

Michael Gullqvist showed his driving skills in the States, reaching the NHRA Gatornationals final in March, but will face competition from Andy Robinson, Mikael Lindahl, Urban Johansson and Europe’s fastest nitrous racer, Roger Johansson. Bruno Bader showed great form last year and can win races and a championship. And what about Adam Flamholc in his new Camaro, and Johan Lindberg, who clocked Veidec Raceway’s first 3-seconds 1/8 mile run in testing? Or Jan Gunnarsson, the surprise finalist at last year’s Veidec Festival in his spectacular Cadillac Coupe de Ville?

From the Netherlands, Marc Meihuizen will be back after the freak accident he suffered last year at Hockenheim. But the dark horse might be Robert Joosten, who has already made some test runs in the USA with his brand new, state-of-the-art ’70 Camaro. This stunning-looking car might surprise as it hits the European tracks. We shall know come Monday evening, May 31.
