Racepak
Racepak seminar at
Santa Pod Inspired by the great success at last year’s Veidec Festival, contingency sponsor Racepak organised a seminar after Friday’s Main Event qualifying at Santa Pod Raceway. Racepak’s Tim Anderson gave information about new products, how to reduce the chance of interference and useful tips for the easiest way to use Racepak equipment. There was also time to answer individual questions. Although the seminar was for FIA/UEM teams only, Anderson showed the newest Sportsman Data Recorder. The system incorporates the same technology used by the professional teams, gives all the information a Sportsman racer could ask for and is designed to meet the Sportsman racer’s budget. |
In the second part of the seminar Anderson gave tips to prevent interference caused by the ignition, connections to the firewall or badly connected cables and explained the right way to remove cartridges. Anderson than outlined some tricks for swifter downloading to the computer and demonstrated short cuts for analysing data more quickly. Reading the data from the computer screen was also one of the subjects. Anderson explained how to change screen colours, zoom in and out on details and make the different lines on a screen more visible by pulling them apart. In the meantime Anderson answered various questions and also gave useful advice about individual problems teams had encountered. For the teams present, the seminar proved a very useful meeting. |
