Top Methanol
Funny Car Preview
The TMFC field at the NitrOlympX is the same size as last year, but two of the real 'big hitters' (Ulf Leanders and Leif Andréasson) will not be racing.
The Leanders car is in the US and Andréasson sold his to Chris Farrugia of Malta, who has yet to complete his TMFC license so he can't yet start his methanol funny car career.

On the other hand we do have the welcome return of Deszoe Krivan after a break, racing in his amazing Toyota Celica TMFC. Campaigning his new car in its 3rd race is Jarmo Kuutniemi. Last year he qualified number 1 with a 5.97/367 kmh in his old car. The Hockenheim track could well see a big improvement on that time this year.

Rob Turner will continue to improve his Personal Best in the beautiful Monte Carlo TMFC. So far it's been steady progress and a learning curve. Is this where he will give the car everything it's got ?

Dan Larsen made it to the final at the NitrOlympX last year, where he raced Danny Bellio who red-lit to hand the win to Dan. You can be sure he will remember that and won't make the same mistake twice.

Another local favourite looking to improve is Jürgen Nagel, who quaified in 7th and went out in round one last year. There is a big note in his diary for the NitrOlympX this year - 'Must try harder'. Looking at the form of the teams, the 7th place qualifier should be running less than 6 seconds. There are 8 spots in the elimination ladder, which means that everyone will have a place in the competition on Sunday and somebody gets a bye in the first round, always a luxury and everybody will want it.
