Last year there were less than five hundredths of a second between the top 4 qualifiers. The A-fuel dragsters of Krister Johansson and Dave Wilson were no 3 and 4, with the Norwegians (Hanssen and Udtian) in 5th and 6th. Bringing up the rear were Derek Flynn and Dennis Habermann, with a 5.527 for the bump spot.



There is also the possibility of an all-German final with Timo Habermann and Peter Schöfer in good form this year. They were number one and two qualifiers at the last meeting at Mantorp Park, it's their home track and and it would be a repeat of last year's final. Dennis Habermann is also doing well in the FIA Championship and that increase the odds. Dave Wilson is looking to regain his form and he's run well at Hockenheim in the past. This could be where he retunrs to the winners circle. What are the odds on it happening again? Well, this is drag racing and anything can, and does, happen.

One thing we don't want repeated is the need to re-run any of the eliminations, which was necessary last year when the Staging lights malfunctioned as Timo and Derek were staging in the first round.



There are 8 cars entered for the 8 places in the elimination ladder, and 3 of them are racing in front of their home crowd. That makes it special for them and they will try just that bit harder. The Top Methanol dragster class is always tough, always close and a real spectacle to watch. The crowd at the NitrOlympX are guaranteed a good show !
