Top Fuel Bike Preview
The Top Fuel Bikes compete over the full 1/4 mile and in an 8- bike ladder at Gardermoen Racway. Six riders are currently entered.

During last event at Mantorp Park competing over the 1/8 mile distance two riders stood out; Sweden´s Peter Svensson 4.07 sec/302 km)  and Finland´s Jaska Salakari (4.12 sec./298 km)

Svensson, who is the European ET and speed record holder over both distances, was last weekend only 0.013 sec from his 1/8 mile record. Although entering the championship mid-season, this is certainly a man to count with to run quick and win rounds. Running in the 5.90´s last year at Gardermoen Peter Svensson think there is still more to come performancewise and he aim for it next weekend. He says it may well be possible to cut one tenth of a second (that would mean running in the 5.80´s). He likes the Gardermoen track and refer to it as being very smooth, with a lot of traction. An easy and enjoyable track to run at.

Jaska Salakaris performance in Top Fuel Bike at Mantorp running 4.12 sec/298km (with a bike that can class in Super Twin) is from what I gather world class.

Add to that Petri Paljakka, who started with a win at Alastaro, and are currently 3rd in the championship having overtaken Wollatt who does not enter all championship rounds.

And let´s not forget Rene van der Berg who is currently 2nd in the championship and qualified 4th during the last event at Mantorp. He is well in the game and earning points in the most consistent way of all riders in the class.

Kai Selkämma is the current championship leader, 54 points ahead of Van der Berg and leaving Paljakka 62 points behind entering the Sunoco Drag Challenge at Gardernoen. Selkämma did not enjoy a successful event at Mantorp. Will he still be in a somewhat safe points lead a week from now?

Sverre Dahl, who competes at his home track is considered among the strongest competitors by his fellow racers. He has missed three events and entered the championship first at Mantorp last weekend and did so with a new chassis. He was 3rd quickest at Mantorp last weekend

Check the entry list under a separate heading and stay tuned for reports at Eurodragster.com in co-operation with Speedgroup and the event organizer NDRG.
