Larsen claimed the Championship and Euro Finals win!

Dan Larsen 2 x winner!

The final round of the championship took place at Santa Pod Raceway and there were 3 possible championship winners - Larsen, Nagel and Grødem.

Qualifying was fast and furious, with Danny Bellio running a storming 5.793/247 mph that proved to be the fastest run of the weekend. Q2 went to Jürgen Nagel with a 5.828/244.20, a new Personal Best. True to form, Arvid Grødem was in third spot (5.835/221.23) with Larsen only managing 4th, Turner in 5th with a new PB of 6.042/225.62 and the returning Deszoe Krivan in 6th. In 7th place was Steph Milam, still looking for her first 5, with a 6.320/216.86.

Nagel qualified 2nd quickest - 5.82 sec at 244 mph which was also a new personal best. Well done Jürgen & the JNR crew!

Danny Bellio had the benefit of the bye run in round one, and promptly blazed the tyres away from the line, only recording a 10.305/84.90. The next pair saw an improving Dan Larsen defeat Rob Turner 5.8319/241.05 vs. 21.8884/33.73 when Rob went up in smoke off the line and got out of shape.

Rob Turner defeated by Larsen

Dezsoe Krivan had a bye to the next round when Grødem was a no-show after engine damage in qualifying. It wasn't a straightforward pass, ending up 11.3182/72.66 and Dez having to work hard to stay in his lane and avoid disqualification for a centreline violation.

Grødem broke after the qualifications - a lot of tough luck this season for team Westside despite running quick..

Krivan happy runner-up at Santa Pod - well done!

The last pairing was a classic duel between Nagel and Milam, with Steph obliterating her Personal Best to run 6.003/234.07 to Nagel's 6.25619/231.89. Unfortunately for Steph, Nagel had a 0.6 advantage on the reaction time and was still in front at the finish line.

The semi-finals were keenly contested, with Danny Bellio trying just that little bit too hard and Red Lighting himself out of competition against Dan Larsen, who was tightening his grip on the title with only him and Nagel left in contention. His 5.8279/242.41 was his best yet and showed serious intent. In the other half of the ladder, Jürgen Nagel handed the championship to Larsen when he also Red-Lit himself out of competition. This handed the win to a lucky Krivan, who had very violent tyreshake and struggled to control the car. He shut the it down before the finish line, taking the win by virtue of getting a green light at the start.

Champion Larsen on track

The final saw new European champion Dan Larsen defeat Dezsoe Krivan 6.4431/186.59 to 11.2130/91.44 when Krivan also red-lit away his chance of a win. This gave Larsen the event and Championship trophies and in need of plans for an extension to his trophy cabinet.

Packing the chutes and preparing well paid off for team Larsen. Well done Dan, Joan and crew!
