
European Finals winner Martijn de Haas
Entering the European Finals Lorenz Stäuble was in the championship lead at 273 points, 2 points ahead of Heezen and 6 points ahead of Olstad. Per Bengtsson, the 2009 champion said before the race he thought it would be fun to see a first time champion take over his title,that would be Olstad or Heezen.
But it was Stäuble who took the lead during the qualifications with 6.61 sec/213.89 mph after three sessions, followed by Bengtsson 6.62 sec. and Olstad 6.74 sec.

Koedam broke before the eliminations
Martijn de Haas was 9th after qualifications, but got the chance to be in the ladder as an alternate for Roel Koedam, who had to park the bike after the qualifications. Low qualifier Stäuble also had problems, but the crew´s efforts to replace a damaged crankshaft paid off. Fellow racer Ismo Mäenpää was the one who sorted a thankful Stäuble out with parts (Mäenpää outside the ladder after the qualifications)

Some of the eliminition runs really provided 1st class performance and tight racing. One was the battle Hegré/Stäuble in the quarter finals where both set new personals best´s. 6.615 för Hegré and 6.477 sec. för Stäuble. Well done both!!

Trond Jostein Höiberget
Lo Stäuble on to to the semi´s to face Trond Jostein Höiberget who also provided spectators with a great show in his quarter finals against Kemppainen. Höiberget 7.100 sec. to Kemppainen´s 7.099 and Trond Jostein´s win was due to a quicker reacton time. 0.0019 was the difference over
the finish line!
Höiberget´s race weekend however ended in the quarter finals against Stäuble, but he at least advanced in the points standings from 6th to 4th. Well done team Höiberget!
