Top Fuel Preview
Revenge, that’s what Andy Carter will be looking for at Alastaro. The Main Event was not his race and, to keep up with arch rival Urs Erbacher, the reigning champion has to score valuable points in Finland. But with five Finnish drivers on hand, the home crowd has other heroes to cheer for.
With his win and record speed at the Main Event, everybody knows Urs Erbacher is back and his intention of returning the FIA European title to Switzerland is serious. For Per and Karsten Andersen and their driver Andy Carter, the start of the season was performance-wise not what they expected it to be. But in Finland they will expect to strike back and show why Andersen Racing is the championship-winning team. With five local drivers, the Finnish spectators will have their own favourites.

With his new, ex-Brandon Bernstein car, Risto Poutiainen showed great form from the very first moment at Santa Pod and will try to go one place better than his runner-up position in England. Home favourite Anita Mäkelä had some problems at the Main Event but is always strong at Alastaro and as she said at Santa Pod: ‘I’ll be back.’ And never forget the other two Rune Fjeld cars of Jari Halinen and Janne Ahonen. Ahonen will hope for a good result to wipe out his bad Main Event feelings. At Alastaro, Timo Lehtimäki will have his first outing of the 2010 season. And never forget Micke Kågered. After his 4.99sec qualifying ET in England the Swede will aim for a strong finish in Finland.
