Kai Selkämaa
Points leader coming to his home track Alastaro

Finnish rider Kai Selkämaa arrives at Alastaro as a points leader in the Top Fuel Bike category.
After two events, with one win in Hungary and ending as runner-up at the Main event in the UK, and after setting a new personal best of 6.89 at Santa Pod, he is happy with the race season so far. But there is one thing worrying team Selkämaa.

And their achilles heel can be described in two words: cylinder head. Kai tells that the head they are running is damaged and was so in England as well. He says they need to be careful and save it as much they can until the new cylinder head they have ordered is ready.. and that will likely not happen in time for the event at Alastaro. The new Billet head is prepared in Finland but it takes time, and meanwhile Kai just have to be selective with runs and don´t push it too much to make the head last.

Although setting a personal record of 6.89 sec. just at the last event, he can see himself run in the 6.60´s this season. To the question about the track at Alastaro, Kai says he likes it. The only thing holding him back right now is the parts matter. Kai does not have much data since last year to go on in regards to setup at Alastaro as the bike is different this year.

Steve Woollatt, who is in 2nd place in the points standings is not entering the UEM championship round at Alastaro, but a new competitor is entering the scene instead. Jaska Salakari, who lives in the same village as Kai only a few kilometers away, will be running a bike in Top Fuel Bike as well as Super Twin Bike. Although it would mean more competition Kai would without a doubt welcome further teams to the Top Fuel Bike class and to Alastaro.
