Jarmo Kuutniemi
New racecar for Japa

Finnish methanol funny car driver Jarmo "JAPA" Kuutniemi enters the FIA championship 2010 at Alastaro. He does it with a car that by the look is similar to the one he ran in 2009, but is in fact bought complete from the US for this season.

It just arrived in Finland in time for the event at Alastaro some weeks ago and Jarmo got to try his new ride for 4 runs at the championship track he soon is to return to. And so far he is happy with the car, runs at Alastaro during tests was in the 6.10 sec range and JAPA´s goal for the season is to run quicker than his personal best of 5.79 sec. It should not be out of reach for this car and he is a very skilled driver, that has been in drag racing since the 1980´s and formed his team OK Racing in 1994. Jarmo sees no need to talk about the cars origin, but tells it takes a while to get used to a new car, not least because the cockpit layout is different.
