FHRA
Talking with the
organiser FHRA

We called Tapio Välja of FHRA (Finnish Hot Rod Association), the organiser for the FIA/UEM Nitro Nationals at Alastaro. We wished to check on how the preparations for the race at Alastaro are proceeding and if they still are affected by the fact the FHRA office was destroyed in a fire the past winter.
Tapio says; "The only thing I can think of is that the FHRA staff have had to work extra hard as a result of the fire, as necessary equipment was damaged or lost in it".

He says that staff is maybe more worn out than normal this time of year because of the fire, but that all are really looking forward to work at the FIA/UEM Nitro Nationals. Tapio does not think the teams will notice much difference just because of the fire when at Alastaro.

Equipment has already been tested out before, not least two weeks ago when there was a national race at the Alastaro track. When asked about the track and current track conditions Tapio tells that teams present at the national event expressed they were content with the track. He also says the track owners have made some work to the track and it is believed to have improved the track conditions as well (bumps that have been an issue in some classes before have, say some teams, become less significant

The FHRA staff for this year’s FIA/UEM Championship round is intact with only a few exceptions, so Tapio ensure teams will recognize the staff and he stresses that he wish all teams to feel warmly welcome to Alastaro for the Nitro Nationals July 1-4th. FHRA also welcome to have Eurodragster present with staff to care for live online reporting in English during the full event. www.eurodragster.com

Finnish reports will be made with some delay on FHRA’s website www.fhra.fi
