Top Methanol Funny Car - Review Round #2 2014
The entry field in Top Methanol Funny Car for round #2 in Finland constituted of only three drivers at Alastaro, but they put up a good show.
Johan Lindberg from Sweden should be the quickest in the field, the team has a lot of skills from the last year of competition, doubling with racing Jonnie´s funny car in the US and Johan´s in Europe. For this season they also made alterations to the chassis of Johans car and some other changes to get it more identical to Jonnie´s car. At Alastaro Johan´s best ET during the qualifications was 5.74 at 409 km/h and he qualified number one  with that.

Johnny Oksa qualified at 6.06 and Ari Pietilä 6.24. As the field was small, they jumped into the semi final directly and Johan hand the advantage of a Bye run.

Johnny Oksa, Finland runner-up and Johan Lindberg, Sweden winner at Alastaro.

Johan & crew used the run to try out the setup which resulted in 5.83 sec at 405 km/h.

In the other pair Johnny Oksa took out Ari Pietilä from further competition and the final was between Lindberg and Oksa. No records times, winning at 6.13 is not what we are used to, but first over the finish line it is. And Lindberg was. Loosing time for Oksa in the 7 second range was  not representative for Johnny and crew, which for this event also included Jörgen Leanders of Leanders clutch, who together with brother Ulf aim to compete both in Europe and the US (with one car on each continent and Ulf behind the wheel). We look forward to Leanders return and also a few of the other teams who for different reasons could not make the compatition in Finland.

In clear championship lead Lindberg, followed by Oksa. Seven drivers have so far entered the class this season.
