FIA Pro Stock Car - Preview Round #3 2014
Back in 2012, Hockenheim and Santa Pod also had track problems; Jimmy was runner up that year to Thomas Lindstrom who was able to make the best use of the tracks and pulled out points at almost every event. Could it be possible that Michael Malmgren can capitalise on his Alastaro win and keep his momentum in the championship?
Entry List NitrOlympX:

Jimmy Ålund            SWE
Thomas Lindström    SWE
Jan Palmqvist            SWE
Magnus Petersson    SWE
Michael Malmgren     SWE
Jan Ericsson              SWE
Christian Sagelv         SWE
Simon Gustafsson      SWE

Michael Malmgren is points leader and has been improving round by round all year.  He is in a new car this year and it seems to suit him.  We will have to see if the car suits Hockenheim as well.

Jimmy Ålund is sitting in second place after a “challenging” time at Alastaro.  Jimmy has got used to winning rounds, and not taking the top step in Alastaro will have only made him more determined, quicker on the tree and faster down the track.  If the Hockenheim surface tacks a little reading, then Jimmy can be expected to capitalise on anyone elses issues.

Magnus Petersson sits in third place currently, and can challenge hard for the championship if he can take some qualifying and round points over Jimmy and Michael.

Thomas Lindström lost out in round one to Magnus Pettersson and also qualified in a low position for the Ernyrd Cars team.  Thomas will be looking for a big points haul in Germany without which his challenge is effectively over for 2014

Jan Palmqvist is currently fifth in the championship.  Jan has new engines this year and likes Hockenheim.  Jan can run in the 6’s and is more than capable of taking round wins against anyone.

Christian Sagelv made his first appearance in the FIA championship at Alastaro and enters the table at position 6.

Since Ulf Wagnhester retired from the driver seat in the Samantha Racing Dodge, Simon Gustafsson has taken on the duties.  This will be Simon’s first experience of Hockenheim in the driving seat of a Pro Stock.

Jan Ericsson also races for the first time in Hockenheim.  Jan is another driver with a package that can deliver if they get the tuning right.

Michael Malmgren (above and below) leads the championship and won round #2 in Finland

Hockenheim has an 8 car field and this means there will be qualifying points for everyone.  As ever, I do not make predictions but I will say that with the new rules for qualifying points, the holders of the number one two and three spots in each qualifying session could pull a significant lead out on anyone who does not make it into the top three.  Expect the teams to go for it from round one.
