The Pro Stock Bike class becomes tighter and harder to race in, as everyone is chasing the 6 second-times. Now the Sovereign-Star racing team, with Kenneth Vik as the rider, takes up the challenge.

Sovereign Star-Racing Suzuki is the first and only, so far, to have new MonStar cylinder head with a 16 valve head for Europe. But it might not take too long before more bikes like it is going to be used over here.

- We had some contact with Star Racing and George Bryce when he was here one and a half year ago, tells Tor Erik Westbye who is crew chief for the team. Kenneth Vik, who has been in drag racing since 2000 and in Pro Stock Bike since 2006, was at a point where he wanted to go further.

- I wanted to try something new and this opportunity came at a very right time, says Kenneth. At the time George was here we were discussing parts and business and then he let us know he wanted a team to test their new concept in Europe. So that was just what I was looking for. And a year after we went over to visit him and see some racing, and there we agreed to work together. We did the first tests in Gainesville, Florida this year and everyone was very satisfied. We did numbers that nobody has done before in Europe.

The design of the head concept was made on a napkin by George Bryce at a restaurant when he had a meeting with a college. And this kind of head is now approved by UEM/FIM from the autumn 2012. But it has been a long way to come so far. Kenneth got the 13th manufactured head. If that’s a lucky number or not, is to be found out. But so far it seems to be on the good side. This head I now used, are mostly on the Pro Mod Bikes in the USA

Kenneth Vik has been racing since 2000 and in Pro Stock Bike since 2006 and now he is in a very good position to make progress in the class and for the class. George Bryce is the owner of Star Racing and is running his own team with two Buell`s. He was also tuning the bike Sovereign Racing won the European Championship with in 2011 (with Danish rider Jesper Thiel) photo: George and Jackie Bryce have been involved in several projects in Europe. In the US they are very well-known as they have won more awards then most racers ever have. Georg and wife Jackie founded Star Racing to support motorcycle the drag racing community at 1980. Three years ago they started to specialize in parts for older drag bikes and late model sport bikes as a 30th anniversary celebration. George has been the dynamic force behind the exciting NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle series and owner/rider/tuner of the Star Racing machines for more than twenty-five years. He is probably the most sought after man in the business today. Bryce has until now, won - six NHRA National Championships - 80 event wins as a rider and - owner or crew chief in 149 finals rounds of competition! He also runs the acclaimed NHRA Drag Racing School for Pro Stock motorcycle racing in Gainesville, Florida. No doubts about the knowledge with this man. He is very familiar with European drag racing since earlier, while he has been involved in other teams here, but this is the first time he use a team for his testing new equipment’s here in Europe. The bright and colorful bike and suit make people turn their heads. And that’s the point says Kenneth. The Sovereign-Star Racing wants to catch the eyes of people!
