Newsletter #8 2013

This edition is the FHRA Nitro Nationals Review. The event was run at Finland´s championship track Alastaro July 4-7th. It was round #3 in the FIA European Dragracing Championship as well as being part of the EDRS European Drag Racing Series and the FIM Drag Bike Championship.

We give you class by class reviews from the FIA Championship classes and we have talked with a few of the drivers and riders who was successful at Alastaro; Top Fuel Dragster winner Finland´s Anita Mäkelä. Lena Perés also interviewed  Kenneth Vik, Pro Stock Bike from Norway and young, promising EDRS Funny Bike rider Charly Forsberg, Sweden who was a finalist at Alastaro. Last but not least meet two ladies that stands out in EDRS Stock Super Stock - Finlands Noora Laine and  Tarja Gynther.

For results from FHRA Nitro Nationals for all classes visit    Eurodragster.com (link leads to the event coverage menu)

While the next championship event is still four weeks away, the coming month is filled with a number of EDRS and national championship events in Scandinavia.

I will  spend the nearest weeks  attend- ing the NHK Festival at the gorgeous Sättna track outside Sundsvall, Sweden  July 19-21st. In Sundsvall Pro Modified is run as part of the Swedish Championship with FIA Championship drivers like reigning Champion Micke Gullqvist and Alastaro runner-up Mats Eriksson on the entry list. The event is a full range EDRS European Drag Racing Series event.

The week after that awaits the EDRS Summer Nationals at Tierp Arena july 26-28th, also that part of EDRS and the Swedish championship, a championship  which Speedgroup administer on behalf of the Swedish Auto Sports Federation, SBF. It is going to be a few intense, but enjoyable weeks I am sure!
