FIA Championship Classes briefing:

FIA Top Fuel Dragster:

9 teams entered for an 8 car elimination ladder. Competition distance: 1000 foot
The breaking news is that Micke Kågered will park his own car for this event to pilot the RF Motorsport operated dragster, that was driven by Risto Poutiainen during qualifications at Main Event (Poutiainen  still on the entry list as far as we know). So stay tuned for the Top Fuel Dragster results when qualifying starts on Friday and we expect Eurodragster.com´s pit notes might be spreading more light in this matter..
In championship points lead: Antti Horto (FIN)

FIA Top Methanol Dragster:

0 teams entered for this event
Notes: First time we don´t have any teams entered in the class at a championship event. The only Swede in the class, Krister Johansson resigned in august 2012 and his car is going to be operated by Jonny Lagg, who needs to get his competition license in order (and that could not happen at this event).

FIA Top Methanol Funny Car:

7 teams entered for an 8 car elimination ladder
Notes: The Lindberg Bros and Adam Flamholcs first time in Championship competition on Swedish ground. Leanders joins the championship at Tierp Arena. For the first time the quickest teams on site at the same event, however we do miss a few drivers (like Danny Bellio, Jürgen Nagel and rookie Gareth Ellis). Jonas Staflund withdrew his entry, but will be on site without the car and work for Speedgroup.

In championship points lead: Leif Andréasson (SWE)

FIA Pro Modified:

27 teams entered for a 16 car elimination ladder
Notes:  The FIA Championship´s biggest class, where a new ET record was set by Micke Gullqvist at Main Event at 5.945 sec. Drivers from 5 countries entered for this event (where as many as 18 are from Sweden), For the Swedish drivers the event is at the same time a battle for points in the Swedish Championship Dragracing SM. It will be interesting to see how many teams can manage to cross the finish line in under 6 seconds (and best scenario, repeat and perform consistent). We are hoping there may be a few additional drivers that manage to earn lifetime membership in the 5 second club!
In championship points lead: Michael Gullqvist (SWE)

FIA Pro Stock:

12 teams entered for an 8 car elimination ladder
Notes: All entered teams are from Sweden, which is the first time in a very long period we can recall that has happened. Many skilled and potent drivers on the entry list, where worth to note is that rookie Magnus Petersson has established himself well already.  and there are a number of drivers that can win rounds, great to see names like Jan Palmqvist and Jonas Dantanus and Tommy Leindahl. Leindahl who tested the Tierp track during competition at EDRS Nationals in May, running in Comp Eliminator class that time.

Don´t miss to read about the battle that went on between Jimmy Ålund and Thomas Lindström at the recent Main Event in a separate article!

In championship points lead: Jimmy Ålund (SWE)

Don´t miss to check the point standings and entry list for more information and follow the event as we proceed through any of the different option of event coverage described in this article!

FIM Europe Drag Bike Championship

This is the first round of the championship. Classes that run under FIM Europe at this event are

Top Fuel Bike
Super Twin Bike
Pro Stock Bike

Speedgroup have no involvement in the FIM Europe championship 2013, but we will include results and highlight teams active in the classes in the review edition.

Read about Elvira Karlsson, Pro Stock Bike (who naturally is entered for the event) in a separate article in this edition!
