Countdown for season start at Tierp Arena
The  EDRS Nationals is the season opening event in drag racing at Tierp Arena. The event is included in as well the Swedish Championship as the EDRS European Drag Racing Series. We took the opportunity to ask Operations manager Emelie Carlswärd to provide an update from Tierp Arena.

ÅK: Can you tell a bit about how the preparations are preceding for the first event the EDRS Nationals May 11-12th?

EC: We have had a persistent winter at Tierp Arena, so on March 25 we began to remove 130 cm of snow on the entire arena, whose surface is 165 acres, so the facility staff should have a huge praise for their effort! We are now working to prepare our race track and complete all the administration for our first race 11th-12th of May.

ÅK: The organization changed over the winter, would you like to mention anything about that?

EC: We realized during the season 2012 that we needed to streamline the workforce and our work before the season 2013 to be able to develop Tierp Arena.

Lars Erik Lindberg has taken a clearer role as CEO, and I have now a broader responsibility for our operations as Chief Operation Officer for the arena.

Patrik Larsson
has returned as Press Officer and Henrik Modigh has joined Tierp Arena, together with Jonas Karlberg, as a Seller.

Helena Anderstedt began working as a Financial Manager during the season 2012. Markku Pellonpää is responsible for the construction and restoration of the facility before and after the various events. Per Eriksson has continued responsibility for the operation and maintenance of the arena.

ÅK: Are there any new features for the season you wish to mention?

EC: Prior to the season 2013, we have developed three new packages for the teams and their sponsors, which mean that they may purchase tickets for a discounted price for our SM- and EM races.

In addition to that, we will also open up our rooftop of the main building during our SM races for an entrance fee á 100SEK per day for visitors, teams and their sponsors and partners.

Last, but not least, we have during the spring completed our Tierp Arena Shop which is centrally located on the Market Street, where we will sell our own products.
