2012 will be the year when Dave Beck´s three year old European ET record is passed  I am sure of it. At Sweden Internationals, two riders came close..
Swede Ulf Ögge took the low qualifier position on his Buell after two sessions with a fantastic 7.104 sec  followed by Fredrik Fredlund Finland at 7.109 (Fredlund and the rest of teams on site except Ögge run Suzukis).

After a place in the final at Santa Pod for Ögge, but not having got to a satisfying of performance at that event, the team was relieved that it all fell in place at Tierp Arena. Fredlund had support on site in form of NHRA Pro Stock Bike pros Karen and Gary Stoffer which we gather have become well acquainted with European Pro Stock Bike Racing through the last year of co-operation with Fredlund. Fredlund have set the quickest ET in Europe with 7.048 (not backed up to count as record)  and the feeling is both Fredlund and Ögge have the capacity to anytime soon break Becks record of  7.078 sec. Ögge came closest at this event with 7.085!

Martin Bishop (UK), stable championship rider managed a new personal best of 7.281  and Elvira Karlsson Sweden who runs the full championship managed 7.51 sec during qualifications. Riders that we saw on track for the first time this year included Timo Savolainen Finland (ran 7.90 sec during qualifications) and Kenneth Vik Norway which normally performs on a level that can win rounds. 7.29 sec was Kenneths ET during qualifications which was good for the 5th spot in the ladder.

Kenneth Vik from Norway was a no show in round one of eliminations..

Team mates Elvira Karlsson and Kalle Lyrén met already in the first round of eliminations. Lyrén had changed engine and gearbox from the qualifications but managed to stay in the game winning with 7.35 sec over Elivra´s 7.60.

Ulg Ögge had a bye run to start but took the opportunity to go for it and repeated a 7.10 sec. In the semi-finals again a bye run as his opponent Martin Bishop was a no show. 7.085 sec in the semi-final for Ögge an ET like that would have been good enough to beat anyone in the other lane a day like this. A place in the final secured for Ögge.

On the other side of the ladder championship points leader Lyrén was to mee Timo Savolainen in the semi-final. Savolainen who had won the quarter finals against Fredrik Fredlund (Fredlund had technical problems straight off the line)  In the semi-final however Savolainen was a no show, Kalle ran 7.31 sec and faced Ögge in the final. Wih an Ulf Ögge performing steady in the 7.10´s or below Lyrén had to be quick from the startline to stand a chance. A red-light with 0.0706 sec (!) for Lyrén and winner Ulf Ögge made his best event ever. It is going to be interesting to see what ET:s the Alastaro track can produce in the Pro Stock Bike class. Last year traction was good and perfromance fast. Nothing says it is going to be different this time..

Congratulations Ulf Ögge and team Bikeline!

Kalle Lyrén performs consistent which is of outmost importance to stay at the top of the championship points standings. Kalle in 2nd place after Sweden Internationals  just one point behind Ögge

Fredrik Fredlund ran a fine 7.10 during qualifications but things did not go well in the 1st round of eliminations..
