Tomas Kaakinen - Stock

Swedish Record in Stock at Sweden Internationals..
During Friday’s qualifications at Tierp Arena Tomas Kaakinen from Borlange did catch the fastest time ever in the class Stock. He started to race four years ago and last winter he took pension!

-    Now it’s time for drag racing in my life, says Tomas.

The second race in European Championship of drag racing at Tierp Arena started off at a good amount of sportsman rounds. They continued on Friday together with FIA and UEM racing.

And this was the lucky day for Tomas, as he reaches that special goal he putted up before he left hometown.

He can now call himself the fastest Stock-driver in Sweden and even in Europe. A 9.61 sec backed up with a 9.62 sec got this rookie this title and nobody else manages to take the time from him at this event. Now let’s see if there is anyone who can match it the upcoming event.
Tomas drive a unique car that he imported straight from US. It’s the only, so far, Dodge Challenger with a Viper V10 engine in Europe.

-    It’s a factory built Drag Pac and the only one in Europe at the time, he says. This weekend we sat the goal to beat the Swedish record and so we did and are very satisfied with that achievement. Now I have been able to know the car and it feels really good.

Next race for Tomas is at Borlange Street Open but there he chooses another class ET Pro/Bracket as the organizer don´t bring up the Stock/Super Stock class. So let’s see if he can be the fastest in that class as well.

Stock Supoer Stock is run as part of the EDRS European Drag Racing Series administered by Speedgroup and also has Swedish Chammpionship status (check www.dragracing-sm.se)

Team Kaakinen - Göran Nordin, Tomas Kaakinen and Hans Widegren - congratulations!
