Green Goblin got a new suit
After a couple of years announcing that a new body was on the schedule for the -56 Crown Vicky that Mats Eriksson drives in Pro Modified, it’s finally done. And it was worth waiting for.
Ray Hill has been busy working overseas for different car builders and other companies that wanted his fantastic skills of using the paint and brushes. One of the guys he´s been working for is the well-known Chip Foose. But during the last couple of weeks he has been spending his time at the ME Racing Service to paint the new body of Green Goblin.

This time he used matt lacquer, again we should say as it once up on a time had another matt lacquer, if you remember.. Well, the new one he finally destroyed with some real rust.

 -    Kind of crazy, says Mats. But it’s really cool. He did use the same technique at Fredde Fagerström´s pickup truck, but here it looks more like the car has been burned out, or have been standing in the hot American west coast dessert sun at a junkyard.

Ray is the only one who can bring the real rust to a glass fiber body.  And he´s absolutely the best car painter in the world, so I´m very pleased that he made time to do this job. He´s one of a kind.

The first show of the new Green Goblin was at the annual occasion at Mats home village Mockfjärd just a few Swedish miles outside Borlange.  And there were a lot of people that wondered what has happened to the nice and shiny car. So I guess it was a success.

Next to see it will be the spectators at the Tierp Arena during the Sweden Internationals 2012. All are welcome to the pits of Mats Eriksson and team Green Goblin to take a closer look. Check out this preview below!

Mats and son LG is showing the new Green Goblin at a special day in Mats homevillage
at the beginning of June. Ray Hill has just finnish the last brushstroke berfore they left for the show.

Mats with one of his old mates from Mockfjärd, Svarte Soren (Black Soren that he calls himself now).
He is a man who works close to the nature and make his own pitchointment for an example.
They say that he is the real Santa and who knows? Once he was involed in the dragracing too,
back in the old days. He really liked the new painting of the car!
