Newsletter #5 2012 - the Main Event Review
The season opener Main Event was performed at Santa Pod Raceway a week ago. It contained some weather interference but was completed all through the finals due to the hard work of the track staff from Santa Pod Racers Club and Trakbak Racing. Read about the exciting racing in the class by class reports, where some new interesting drivers entered the FIA & UEM Championship; to mention a few.. Duncan Micallef from Malta in Top Fuel Dragster, Chris Polidano also Malta in Top Methanol Dragster, Paul Ingar Udtian Norway went from Methanol Dragster to finish the license for Top Fuel Dragster..Nate Gagnon - Super Twin Bike rider from Canada returned to Europe to do a full championship season!.. that and much more in the Class reports from Main Event under separate headlines.. For the first time we tried out a live-web TV streaming concept which was operated by 8 cameras and a separate web-TV editor (as we were filiming for traditional TV-broadbast at the same time). The quality of the web-TV show was rather brilliant and as it was live edited the action and excitement could be experienced also through the screen. We had mostly positive feedback (despite a full day of rain where we only could broadcast interviews and replays of the testfilming). The cost for two days were set to $10, to help cover the extensive costs to do the live streaming web-TV shows on on top of the traditional TV-production. The web-TV and TV-productions are joint projects between Speedgroup as FIA Championship administrator, the UEM Championship promoter and the Championship event organizers (at Santa Pod Raceway that means Trakbak Racing) Eurodragster.com report the following live coverage statistics from the Main Event internet live coverage: Visitors: 89,889 Page Views: 526,518 Hits: 5,196,467 WWW.DRAGRACING.EU - report In the new entry and results data system, we currently have 920 drivers and riders entered in the system and most major events in Europe have or will open event entry through the system continuously. It is Swedish time keeping system- and software developer Nitroz in co-operation with Speedgroup which have developed this database system, we are certain will take event entry, event administration and results data reporting to the next level.
