Last weekend was historic for Speedgroup and the EDRS European Drag Racing Series - the first event run under EDRS flag was the EDRS Nationals at Tierp Arena. It was a well organized event as usual and we have included a report in this edition where you can find the results and meet the winners! WWW.DRAGRACING.EU Update: In the last newsletter 325 active drivers & riders had entered their profiles, we are now up to 750 and with events and organizers added continuously. Next in line for opening up the entry is FHRA and the championship event Nitro Nationals held at Alastaro Finland July 6-8th. - The organizer at Drachten, Netherlands which hosts 3 events included in the EDRS European Drag Racing Series is also just in the process of preparing their June 22-24th event for entry opening. ..and HockenheimRing and the championship event NitrOlympx in Germany August 10-12 is expected to have all documentation ready to open the event entry the within the nearest weeks. BUT.. first things first and we have an exciting event coming up at Santa Pod Raceway June 1-4th, which you can read about in this edition, where we talk with the organizers and also provide FIA and UEM Championship previews, take the pulse on a few of the teams that will be at Santa Pod (the updated entry list is under a separate headline). Don´t miss the information about the exciting new App in the talking with the organizer article and check www.santapod.com for all details and features the event offer! For FIA/UEM Championship and EDRS teams it is Contingency Programs Sign Up time! Gittli Koller, our contingency program co-ordinator has done all updates and present it in the Contingency Program article. Teams sign up via an easy class by class form online which we have linked to from the article. Stickers are collected from the Speedgroup staff at the first championship event the FIA & UEM the team enter. The EDRS contingency follow the championship but with the addition of Gardermoen Norway (where the Sunoco Challenge event is on the first weekend in August). We have proof that the contingency programs actually do work.. short term to reward and support existing customers of course, but also important long-term to attract new customers. Two contingency program partners that have seen proof of it and attracted new clients are Australian based NRE Noonan Race Engineering, which provide state of the art heads for Pro Mod and the Top Methanol classes. They found their European Distributers Lindberg Bros through the program last year and one of the last additions of successful teams selecting NRE as supplier include Pro Mod Champion Micke Gullqvist. The team apparel US based contingency partner Vicci have seen orders from European teams increase a lot in numbers since their involvement with Speedgroup started in the contingency program 2010. Vicci support ALL FIA/UEM and EDRS classes (!) and as a gratitude for the confidence a majority of FIA,UEM Championship teams and EDRS sportsman teams turn to Vicci as their first alternative for new crew shirts , jackets or other team apparel. Speedgroup together with Vicci also created a number of base designs that can be ordered in smaller quantities, from 6 shirts. Email me if interested to recieve a document with "all you need to know to get started customizing your unique design" and about the Speedgroup EDRS/FIA/UEM Stock designs crew shirts! And speaking of a professional appearance (which I stress again is important), the team indentification flags project Speedgroup initiated a concept for a few months back has really proceeded well and the first batch of flags was delivered to teams on site at the EDRS Nationals. We let Super Gas driver Håkan Matsson pose and show his ready pit identification flag. Customized designs by Speedgroups Lena Perés with a standardized FIA, UEM and EDRS "look" Contact Lena or myself if interested to order one or more customized flag for your team (can of course also include sponsor logos)! Delivery to a major event where Speedgroup is present is included Email to Lena lena.peres@speedgroup.eu Håkan Mattsson EDRS Super Gas was the first EDRS driver to order his pit identification flag and he was this content with it! A place in the winner circle later on we hope did keep Mattsson´s good mood up! |
