Swedish
based Top Fuel Driver Micke Kågered, who has been in drag racing at the
top European level for many years (and hold five European champions
titles among his merits in methanol funny car), has been keeping his
eyes on the crowd pleasing Camaro Cup Series since a few years back.
–
The Camaro Cup Series have been operated for many years and during the
last years they are competing at the same events as the Swedish Touring
Car Championship (STCC), explains Micke Kågered. – The Camaro Cup
Series have enjoyed increased popularity since they implemented a newer
unit cars concept. And then, when I met Alexander Graff through our
mutual sponsor System Edström, the bits started to fall into place one
by one. Graff being a successful, younger driver with a similar view
like myself about how things needs to be operated in a team and how you
as a driver shall work. It all added up to taking the decision
and step into a new motorsport by acquiring the Camaro Cup race car and
develop everything within my existing operation.
Alexander Graff, who ended 4th in the Series 2011 and 2nd in 2010, have piloted for two different teams before.
– The feeling now before the race season 2012 is great, says Alexander.
–
Micke looks at racing from a professional point of view. I think it is
a good foundation that can last all the way to the podium and Camaro
Cup Series win, that I have been chasing for two years!
