– System Edström have been connected to Micke Kågered´s team for a number of years . Nd they  were the ones who initated this new project. Ulf Neumann marketing manager says;  we have been working with both Kågered and Graff and can see many synergy effects with this development which means they will now operate ”under the same flag”.

Neumann continues;

– Both drivers are excellent examples of persons who realize that racing is not only about tough competition at the race track but also to look after their corporate partners, by offering attractive features like guided tours and other unforgettable experiences to their VIP-guests. Ulf Neumann continues. – They also bring us new ideas continuously that we can develop and make available for our customers and emplyoees!

Swedish based Top Fuel Driver Micke Kågered, who has been in drag racing at the top European level for many years (and hold five European champions titles among his merits in methanol funny car), has been keeping his eyes on the crowd pleasing Camaro Cup Series since a few years back.

 – The Camaro Cup Series have been operated for many years and during the last years they are competing at the same events as the Swedish Touring Car Championship (STCC), explains Micke Kågered. – The Camaro Cup Series have enjoyed increased popularity since they implemented a newer unit cars concept. And then, when I met Alexander Graff through our mutual sponsor System Edström, the bits started to fall into place one by one. Graff being a successful, younger driver with a similar view like myself about how things needs to be operated in a team and how you as a driver shall work.  It all added up to taking the decision and step into a new motorsport by acquiring the Camaro Cup race car and develop everything within my existing operation.

Alexander Graff, who ended 4th in the Series 2011 and 2nd in 2010, have piloted for two different teams before.

 – The feeling now before the race season 2012 is great, says Alexander.
– Micke looks at racing from a professional point of view. I think it is a good foundation that can last all the way to the podium and Camaro Cup Series win, that I have been chasing for two years!

Micke Kågered - getting ready to run

I also see a number benefits of having two cars in the same team, says Graff. It can make handling bothe cars simpler and better, even if one is incredibly fast running straight forward and the other one take the curves amazingly well!

System Edström also support another extremely successful motorsports profile. Reigning Speedway World Champion  Greg Hancock.

– Our clients, the retailers, enjoy motorsport. Our clients´s customers, who are craftsmen of all sorts who use their transport cars in their daily job, loves motorsport! It is positive from all points of views for our company to be connected to motorsports. With three extremely talented drivers who are also respected gentlemen in their sports respectively, we hope we are in for a successful season 2012, concludes Lars Hällsten, Managing Director of System Edström
