To celebrate the BILSPORT Magazine´s 50th birthday and present the annual BILSPORT 2011 awards, the publisher of BILSPORT Magazine (and a number of other motor related magazines) Förlags AB Albinsson & Sjöberg arranged the BILSPORTGALA in Stockholm Sweden on January 28th 2012

It is always a rare opportunity to get to meet people representing the full spectra within the motorsports trade; drivers and crew members, corporate partners, stewards and officials, families and friends.. All gather to honor the award winners and most of all pay a tribute to Motorsport - a mutual interest and lifestyle for a majority of the 500 guests that attended the gala. And this time it was extra special as it was also the 50th birtday of BILSPORT Magazine!

It was a gala evening to remember with first class entertainment including LaGaylia Frasier and Martin Stenmarck.

The BILSPORT Awards are partly decided by a jury and partly by the readers of the BILSPORT Magazine in forms of nominations and voting.

For the Drag Racing category Jimmy Ålund, European Champion in FIA Pro Stock was first awarded Driver of the Year in Drag Racing and then won for the award for Senior of the Year all categories in addition! Another successful driver on stage was Amanda Sjöström-Andersson, active in Jr Dragster, who won the Swedish Drag Racing League SDL and became Swedish Champion! 2011. Amanda was awarded Drag Racing Junior of the Year. A big surprise for the award winner was the Autosports Woman of the Year who was handed to Åsa Kinnemar, co ordinator for Speedgroup.
