At Tierp Arena we saw the quickest field of  qualifiers ever in UEM Pro Stock Bike. Performance that included both a new European Record and a few new personal bests..
QUALIFICATIONS:

What about a Fredrik Fredlund who qualified no.1 at 7.025 sec. which was later backed up to be established as a new European ET record. Ulf Ögge was not far behind and his 7.065 run would have been good enough for a record.. if it wasn´t for Fredlund..

Kenneth Vik impressed with a new personal best at 7.10 sec and Anders Larsson, who returned to the UEM Championship after a few years absence  managed a fine 7.20 sec, good for a 4th spot in qualification rankings.

Anders Larsson

Kalle Lyrén at 7.21 and Elvira Karlsson at 7.32 was good for the 5th and 6th positions in the elimination ladder.

Lyrén next in line to enter the track

ELIMINATIONS:

With Bo Thorselius as a no show in the first round of eliminations Fredrik Fredlund got to enjoy a bye pass. He choose the option to go for it and his 7.102 sec was again impressive.

On the same side of the ladder Anders Larsson found himself outrun by Kalle Lyrén. Kalle 7.29 against Larsson´s 7.52. Great however to see Larsson on the track again and we hope he will return for the season 2013.

Ulf Ögge continued to run well and his 7.15 sec was simply too quick for Timo Savolainen who managed 7.94.

In the last pair Kenneth Vik found himself experiencing what later was referred to as shifting problems off the startline. The engine cut out and the run was over for Vik more or less before it started. Elvira Karlsson in the opposite lane had things in decent order and managed a 7.53 sec, that was good for a place in the semi-final against Ögge.

Kenneth Vik

Karlsson´s engine unfortunately stopped at the hit in the semi-final, while Ulf Ögge continued to run quick. 7.11 sec this time.

Fredlund against Lyrén turned out in favour of Fredlund. 7.19 sec. winning ET against Kalle´s 7.28. Lyrén first from the line, but this time it did not do the job.

The exciting final between Ögge and Fredlund was not to be as a heavy rain shower stopped the competition just before all finals was due to start.

The championship points situation entering the European Finals is THE thriller of the UEM Drag Bike Championship 2012. Sweden´s Ulf Ögge and Finlands Fredrik Fredlund are at both at the same points (325) and follwed by Kalle Lyrén also Sweden at 309 points.
