Race Report EDRS
Scandinavian Internationals
Tierp Arena August 23-26th
Tierp Arena offered a spectacular weekend during the Scandinavian Internationals 2012.  Of course because it was the first time Sweden arrange an FIA and UEM championship event for the second time the same season, but also because the expected rain didn’t come until Sunday afternoon. But most of all because all the records that was set.
Unfortunately some rain came at Thursday morning that interrupted the sportsman classes. So they just had one round in the afternoon and one round at Friday as the FIA and UEM classes have their sessions scheduled then. No Finals was run in the Sportsman classes
Pro Mod had to back off at the finals due to the rain. In the finals the fastest couple where supposed to run.  Martin Lundkvist vs Michael Gullqvist. Michael had a great weekend until the elimination day. During the night the team had to fix the rear end that broke on Saturday. And Martin had to fix his exhaust pipe and door that he hit the wall with. But the guys were raceready on Sunday and where supposed to meet in the finals, but not this time. Martin also did the first official first 400 run this weeken. 403 km/h was the run he backed up the new record at 598,52 by. Well done.

In Competition Andeas Arthursson was supposed to meet Matti Rajamäki in the semi and Kenneth Feldthusen was up to Stig Olsson but the rain stopped the rest of the racing for the class. The points standing in this second last race in Central Division is that Stig still has the lead before Per Erik Lindgren who was out in first round. The most sensational in the first round was the first pair out, John Bradshaw and Jan Ericsson was disqualified cause of none of them got in to stage. The starter waved them of cause taking to long time staging.

In Comp Eliminator Krister Adeen had a pretty scary run in the second qualifying round at Friday. He got a hard right turn at finish line that got the car to roll a couple of times before it stopped.  Krister was ok when rescue came, but the car has to be rebuilt. So that was it for this season for Krister. But he said that he will try to get a new car at the track until next year. So we hope.

Lindahl bros came to test their new turbo in this class as well and it seems to work just fine. Maybe next year they will take it in to Pro Mod where they are usually racing.

Super Street Mauri Kamppinen

In Super Street Halvor Överby is still in lead but Christer Gustafsson at second place is taking points. He was up to meet his nephew Simon Gustafsson in the semi but the rain came half through the round and so their round didn’t count. Not far behind Christer in the table is Mauri Kamppinen who Christer took out in the second run, but as it didn’t count Mauri had the advantage here.  No Finals was completed.

Super Gas Bosse Hall (near) and Mats Karlsson

Per Fagerström S/SS

Stock/Super Stock point leader Uffe Edvardsson was supposed to go up against Anders Hållén in third round but was on hold due to rain. And a bit behind Uffe in the table is Bengt Ljungdahl who was supposed to race against Bjorn Bondesson. Tarmo Mikkola who is at third place in table was out in second round. Edvardsson is having a good lead that can be hard to beat. But there is two rounds left in the class before that will be settled. Next round is at Alastaro before Finals at Tierp in about a month.

Super Comp Mikael Nilsson now points leader was going up against Johanna Granholm in the third round and she is on third place in the table. She had a byrun in the round before. Mikael took out Angelica Bäckman in second round. Robin Norén had a byrun as Kristina Hägglund no show. Mikael is now way ahead of Robin that is second in the table. Robin has to win next race and Mikael not take any point to might make any different in the top. But that is to be seen first. Finals at Tierp

Top points leaders Bosse Hall and Håkan Mattson is still fighting over the win in Super Gas. They were up to meet Erik Jansson and Tommy Lundberg in the semifinal before the rain started.

In Junior Dragsters Liro Laakonen is still in lead at 744 point and Amanda Sjöström Andersson is second at 616 point. It’s hard to beat Iiro when just two race left and five to count. Axel Jungvar had a thrilling round against Amanda as it started to rain in the middle of the round. The tires spun all the way and at the eights he did a pirouette and just handles it very well, missed the wall and stayed at four wheels. He was just OK and the round was rerun due to the rain that caused the whole thing. Amanda took the win but Axel did a good run anyway after that adventure. Good job Axel.

Super Gas Bike Robban Pettersson

Super Comp Bike and Super Gas Bike got to the second rounds elimination, where Thorsten Appel vas going up vs Dag Vagenius and Peter Andersson would have a bye run in Super Comp Bike. Håkan Karlsson was supposed to meet Peter Svensson. Bert Nilsén is in points lead at 486 points and is a hard nut to beat. Closest is Thomas Nilsson at 419.

In Super Gas Bike Tomas Jonsson  was going up vs Kristoffer Jarbo and Kristo Korpela was meeting Jonas Lundberg. Kristo is third in the point standings. Tommie Johansson had a bye run. Tomas Jonsson is leading the point just ahead of Jarkko Niemi, Finland who did breakout vs Tomas in the second round.

The EDRS Finals in Division Central is run at Tierp Arena September 28-29
