Peter
Svensson is one of fastest bike competitors in the world and he had
hoped to set some records at Hockenheimring last weekend. But that was
not an option this year. Now he and the team instead prepare for Tierp
Arena to make a new try.
- First of all I
don’t want to put more “salt in the wound” after the weekend at
Hockenheim, too many have already done that. But it´s clear that a way
better collaboration has to get set for all involved partners. Where
everyone is having the same goal, that SAFETY for drivers has to be
promoted at all times. The coherence between FIA and UEM has to be
improved and some kind of conditions has to be set up for the track. A
week or more before a race there has to be a coefficient of friction
test of the whole track, to avoid such problem that appeared in
Hockenheim. The alternative is that one team has the responsibility of
the track preparation at all Championship tracks in Europe, similar
like NHRA has in the US. Hockenheim has always had a special atmosphere
and it has been a great track for new records for us. But before we
have any kind of warranty that the track is ok or has the same
conditions as before, we consider if we will got to Hockeheim next
year. It´s cost us too much money, says Sören Svensson crew chief and
brother to Peter.
