The
NitrOlympX 2012 will see the more then welcome return of crowd
favourites Urs Erbacher and Lorenz Stäuble. The Swiss Fat Attack team
mates are looking forward to their ‘home race’ and as the reigning Top
Fuel champion and former Super Twin champion they do not support the
Olympic Spirit ‘participating is more important than winning’, no they
come to Hockenheim with one goal, to take two trophies back to
Switzerland.
Lorenz Stäuble
At the end of last season it was already announced
that 2011 was the last season for Lorenz Stäuble’s Fat Attack Racing
Super Twin. Then lack of funding was the reason Urs Erbacher had to
skip the first part of the season and could not defend his FIA European
Top Fuel title. But thanks to the support of Midland Oil
Switzerland, SCS it systems, H+R Suspension and many friends and
smaller sponsors, both crowd favourites will be at the NitrOlympX.
“It’s great to be back. What I missed most were all the friends at the
racetrack, but also the smell of nitro and burning rubber and the
traveling”, says Urs.
Traditionally Hockenheim, only two and a
half hours from Switzerland, is their home race and the Fat Attack team
welcomes all their sponsors and business partners in a big hospitality
unit. This year is no difference. “Yes, we have a hospitality area with
200 VIP guests. Most are from Midland and SCS, my main sponsors this
year. But for interested people, we still have some places for sale in
our pits as a VIP. A 3-days VIP-ticket for Hockenheim means three days
in our pits and hospitality, full food and drinks included. A
VIP-Erbacher-hat and t-shirt are also included and the price is €
490.--. We only have about 20 tickets left”, says Urs. The Swiss team
loves Hockenheim. “The atmosphere is amazing on this historic
racetrack.
80% of the spectators is from Switzerland, so that
means it’s our home race and all our friends and family will be there
and see us race. For me it’s still one of the best races. It’s a pity
with so many spectators for the Saturday Nightshow, not so many stay to
see Sunday’s eliminations.”
