The Pro Mod 5 second Club has now grown a bit again!
The
fourth member who earned his membership in the club was Johan
Lindberg from Sweden, who made his first 5 second run at Tierp Arena
during the Sweden Internationals.
Johan is a worthy member who
is also included in the staff that have been building the great new venue Tierp
Arena.
5.988
sec. was the elapsed time performed by Lindberg which granted
a lifelong membership in the prominent 5 second club. Not the fastest
run in the club so far but nevertheless a great achievement!
The
Pro Mod 5 second Club was
started 2009 with Mats Eriksson when he ran the first ever 5-second run in
Europe.
The initial tradition was founded by Top
Methanol Dragster representative and Speedgroup co-worker Gittli Koller who handed
over a diploma from the team she was working for at the time, as
a gratification to Mats 5 second run. The tradition had been present in the
methanol dragster class for quite a while and has since then become
established also in the Pro Mod class.
The
second and third members
in the 5 second club are Michael Gullqvist and Adam Flamholc.
The
tradition sstates the newest member in the club hands
over a diploma to the next driver who manages to break into the 5
second range. So it was Adam Flamholc who got to welcome driver Johan
Lindberg (and brother crew chief brother Jonny) into this honored club.
Adam was joined by the other members Mats Eriksson and Michael Gullqvist
for the occasion.
Now it is only to wait and see who the next
driver will be that Lindberg Bros is going to hand over a 5-second Club
diploma to!
