Top Methanol Dragster Preview
Main Event
The methanol dragster entry list is among the most interesting of all classes. 10 teams for 8 spots in the ladder mean two will be out already before the eliminations. Two teams from Malta join the class this season and the class consist of both nitro injected and supercharged cars - which type will be most successful this season?

Dennis Habermann started his season testing in Hungary, the track was prepared for bikes and no record breaking runs could be produced, but maybe it gave a taste of the forthcoming season and the new design of the car looks great!

Krister Johansson Sweden has been in the class many years. The last years have included some struggle to get the nitro injected dragster running quick and during 2010 a positive trend started for team Johansson that we hope will continue through 2011 as well.

Peter Schöfer from Germany is one driver who has many event wins among his merits. 2010 was not his most successful year, but team Schöfer are serious and dedicated and will be back to aim for new titles we gather.

Dennis was the 2010 Main Event winner and ended in an overall 2nd position in the championship.

Oliver Azzopardi is new in the FIA Methanol Dragster championship 2011. Fellow country man Monty Bugeja and Oliver will be warmly welcomed to the class and make a great addition to a class that was about to be taken out of the FIA Championship some years back due to lack of teams. The trend has changed and they fill the ladders and with competitors at a high performance level

Fred Hanssen from Norway work with US based tuner Will Hanna this season again.
Hanssen qualified no. 1 at the 2010 Main Event with 5.39 sec/264 mph, followed by Peter Schöfer and Derek Flynn.

The final of the Main Event 2010 stood between Dennis and Timo Habermann, with Dennis as the event winner.

The methanol dragster class is always quick and consistent and we can expect a great show from them during the Main Event. It is crucial to take the points lead and qualification points and positions will be battled for from the first very session.
