Sweden and Finland are strong Pro Stock nations and so also at the Main Event. The 2010 champion Michael Malmgren is of course on site as is the champion before him, Jimmy Ålund. Ålund along with a few of hos pro stock collegues was on track at Tierp Arena to test, which resulted in a new personal speed record of 334.37 km/h (207.81 mph)

Ålund also holds the European ET record of 6.649 sec (from 2009). With that said, that is the level of performance all of the teams including Ålund would love to reach and beat. 

Last year at the Main Event, the difference between no 1 and 8 qulifiers was 27 hundreds of a second, with the bump spot at 7.04 seconds. 

That is realistic and like last year´s Main Event we can expect a final in the 6.70 sec range if track conditions are normal "Santa Pod" standard.

Palmqvist, Malmgren and Callin had a fight over the season 2010 for the top 3 positions and took turns to be in the winners circle as the events.

We gather Jimmy Ålund will be eager to take a grip of his destiny from the start and not let Malmgren get ahead, but with strong contenders like Sundblom, Palos and Leindahl in the field nothing can be taken for granted for neither of them. Pro Stock is mostly about earning the round wins fair and square and there is little room for errors or luck.

A year back a guess on Ålund for Main Event winner in Pro Stock would have felt obvious but not any longer. The teams in the class have taken a few steps closer to his many times outstanding performance.

Our only guess will be that the team highest on the podium at Santa Pod on monday evening will have done everything right. 

The newcomer in the class Thomas Lindström from Sweden does not enter at the Main Event but will join the championship for round #2 at Tierp Arena for the Sweden Internationals in June
