Jan Sturla Hegré

Super Twin gigant of the meet turned out to be last year´s rookie and youngest in the class, Jan Sturla Hegré from Norway . Crew chief Ingar and team manager Pål Magnussen´s decisions resulted in a bike that was manageable on track all through the weekend. In addition Jan Sturla put in great consideration as to how he ran the bike, for instance adjusting his launching technique from the startline over the weekend as traction improved.

Ian King

Top Fuel Bike winner Ian King said more than once over the weekend that he was surprised all went so smooth with the brand new bike and that he kind of expected at least something to fail. A major challenge was to adjust the 1500 hp strong bike down to what the track could take and adjust as the traction improved over the weekend. King´s 6.57 sec run was only the 3rd run with the bike and King stated that it will be only up to him to manage the bike as he now have everything, the latest technology and know-how from the team put into the Gulf Oil - Grand Prix Originals - Top Fuel Bike. When asked what numbers he is aiming for this season, King said that it must to run quicker than his previous personal best of 6.12 sec and that 5 sec. runs should be withinh reach before the season is over.
