Photographer Ivan Sansom was on site to document the action during the European UEM Drag Bike Championship round #1 at Kunmadaras, Hungary April 29th . May 1st. Here are some of his photos for you to enjoy!  


Rune Fjeld Motorsport had two Top Fuel Dragsters on site for exhibition - with finnish pilots Jari Halinen and Risto Poutiainen behind the wheel. Both are expected to run the full FIA Championship this season. Pictured Halinen launching


Pro Mod team Andy Robinson came all the way from the UK to intrpduce the FIA Cars in Kunmadaras - the Robinson family also run chassis building company Andy Robinson Race Cars which is well established in Europe 


2010 Top Methanol Dragster Champion Timo Habermann from Germany put on a show for the Kunmadaras crowd.

Hans Olav Olstad Super Twin from Norway had a great weekend, was number one qualifier and improved performance over the eliminations until finally defeated by fellow countryman Jan Sturla Hegré

Stunning car Mats Erikssons Pro Mod -56 Crown Vicky. It earned him the European championship title in 2009 and a European record at that time of 5.98 seconds, only a few have run quicker after that, and Mats was the leader of the pack and the first one to cross the 6-second line in Europe.


Last but not least.. the photographer himself Ivan Sansom does not like being caught on camera but this time we forced him. From the left Lena Perés Speedgroup and Pro Mod team Eriksson, Kenneth Trondsen, who was in charge of scrutineering in Kunmadaras, Ivan Sansom talented photograher based in the UK and Åsa Kinnemar, co-ordinator of Speedgroup, which administer the FIA Championship and work with the organizers, teams and sanctioning bodies to develop dragracing in Europe.
