The Vicci Difference..

Vicci, the USA's premiere motorsport uniform companies, is working with Speedgroup and the European Drag Racing Championship in the contingency sponsorship program. Team's that wear Vicci's custom uniforms will be rewarded when on the podium. We asked Allan Hermansen, President of Vicci Fashion Group, to let us know his thoughts on some aspects to think about to attract sponsors and to start thinking of team apparel as a natural part of the sponsorship package..

"Now that you have had some time to relax and collect your thoughts after the race season you can begin to develop your approach for next season.  Part of this will most definitely involve the pursuit of new sponsors for your team.

In your pursuit of sponsorship I believe it is always best to keep in mind that concept of “giving” when asking for someone to support your racing efforts.  What I mean is; have multiple things that you can do for your sponsors in your proposal that are specifically targeted to helping them generate more exposure for their business and ultimately more money as a business.

Their ability to make more money from your marketing efforts will only make it so they want to be a long term or bigger part of your racing program.  Always try to list 3-5 ideas that are specific to their brand, product and/or service that you can do to help them beyond just putting a sticker on your car or bike or hauler.  Discuss how you can use your web site to promote their products, how you can use social media to be an advocate for them regularly for their product, how you can introduce them to other sponsors who can use their product in their operations. example: get a retail store chain to sponsor your team, and then bring them new products from companies you seek more sponsorship from. The retail store sponsor can buy products from your other sponsors, sell them and the vendors you introduce to them can develop a new relationship with your store chain sponsor.  A relationship that can prove beneficial for all involved.

Think of relationships between your sponsors and how you can bring them ideas to generate value for their business.

Also, in your proposal you will have pictures of your car, hauler, etc. to show the prospective sponsor how you look at the track.  Don’t forget the crew.  There is 1 car or bike but multiple crew members that you can dress to represent your sponsors at the track too and promote their brands.

Put uniform art concepts in your proposal too to show the sponsors how all of your team members will look and represent the sponsors while at the track.

If you need help with this you can certainly call us at Vicci and we will discuss how we can support your efforts as your success begets our success.  We want to help you succeed.

Regards,
Allan
