UEM Top Fuel Bike - Peter
Svensson

- Even though a lot different teams
complained about the traction, we really didn't have that big problem due
to the tuning possibilities that we have on our clutch and our clutch
management system, so we would like to give everyone in the crew at Santa
Pod a big THANK YOU for the preparation of the track and to everyone else
that always makes us feel welcome and for giving us the possibility to run
as fast as 5.88 sec on a track with new asphalt at the starting
area!
The
rest of the track was just as good as always, and there are not many
tracks around in Europe or even in the world that can handle all the power
that is needed to run 5 second runs on a Top Fuel Bike! If it wouldn't have been for the tricky wind
conditions, we might even have managed a back up on that run
within the stated 1%.

- The European Finals was very important to
us as it would be decisive for the outcome of the championship. As I
couldn´t expect any help from anybody I did focus to be Q1 and to win the
race, as if I did I knew I would also take the championship title. In the
first qualifying round we decided to do a last minute adjusting of the
clutch just before we was getting to the start line, as we saw what big
problems all the others had. We have never ever done that before, but this
was a lucky strike as we due to a lot of wheel spin, anyhow did a 6.60 sec
round and by that was Q1.
We had lots of difficulties with settings and other things so
didn´t run the second round as we didn't think the ET we had set couldn´t
be improved. When Saturday came the track was a bit better so we had tire
shakes caused by to less power. Last qualifying round we did put on some
more, like 2 % nitro (up to 90%) but went up in smoke at start line. That
showed we didn´t have a good tuning for the elimination. But as we
consider that it was the track that was wrong and not the bike, we decided
to keep those settings in to the first round. We did soft up the clutch
and the ignition a bit. All team members were very nervous, but I believed
in the track so I was cool. And when we then did 6.49 sec it showed we was
right and after that we followed with the 6.40 sec it was right all the
way, not just a one-shot. At that point the title was ours so we went for
a speed record. And we did a new personal best at 60 ft 1.07 and on the
throttle 2,1 sec, but then the chain left the sprocket, it wasn´t broken.
We had lots of highlights this weekend. We made the 3 fastest runs at the weekend, beat three
continents in the final Europe (Finland) / Australia and Canada and made
the fastest ET of the season! To be part of the best Super Twin race ever
in Europe (and the world!) and to be able to win is a great feeling and I
know for sure the reason is that I have the best team on the
globe!

UEM Pro Stock Bike - Fredrik Fredlund
We had to change the angle of approach to this event, to open
with softer settings then usual and then slowly increase during the
weekend. On Sunday the conditions was fairly good. Since Alastaro we're
driving with a new engine from Garry Stoffer, who is a crew chief for a
team in US. He did help me at Tierp and now he came over to support me at
the European Finals.
We did very good anyhow, even though the track wasn't the best . Had the lowest ET per round in the elimination, so we were satisfied. The Final round was no problem at all, so I´m just so happy about our win.
I am also grateful to all help I got from Garry, so I gave him the winner cup at Sunday evening. I can call him 24/7 and he gives me all help I need. Actually he follow the European Championship by www.eurodragster every time. It´s been a good season in spite of some small incidents. It was nice to get this win at the Santa Pod Raceway, the first one, I now have a win at all tracks I think, and it was good to finish the season with a winner cup. I have track records at Tierp, Alastaro, Gardemoen and three Q1 in a row is also a highlight this season.
Now I going to send the engine over to US for some tuning, so
it´s fresh until next season.
During the winter I going to equip a new bus. I going to pick it up
in Tierp in a couple of weeks. Then I´m going to Pomona to race and to Las
Vegas to be a guest in Garry Stoffers team. Then I´m looking forward the
next season, where I hope for good events. I also want to send a huge
thanks all my partners and sponsors in my racing and most of all my hard
working team. Without them I would be nothing.

King of Nitro - Urs
Erbacher

After Hockenheim we know everything is
possible and the postion to win the championship was better for us than
last year. First the shock when we was testing at Wednesday and found out
that the track has a new surface on the start line on both sides. Then we
try to make a test rund but we need to shut down after the burn out we can
not shift back to the forward gear.
So first qualifying session we was watching some oft he cars in
front of us and find out there was no grip on the starting line. But in
the end we found a set up for this situation and run very well in both
lines. We ended in the number 1 spot and the good thing was that the other
3 possible contenders fort he title - Anita, Risto and Timo was in the
second half ladder fort he first round. So i knew if we run good I only
meet one of those cars in the final. First win against Patrik Pers was for
me as hard as all the other rounds because the number 8 qualifiee always
gives everything to win against the number 1. Next round against Jari
Hallinen was not easy either because he runs in Rune Fileds team and they
have all the good numbers from Ristos car. But we managed to win that too.
At that moment I feel like nobody can stop us. In the Line up street
for the final I talk to Risto and he says to me maybe it starts to rain
and then Urs Erbacher will be the new Champ bacause i have already extra
points from the low ET oft he event. But I answered to him i will figth on
the race track and not in the line up. So after the burn out i staged my
car and was ready to cut a great light. I feel good when I left the line
but lost the traction soon, so it looks like Risto win. But I always pedal
my car in the elimination because you never know what the other car in the
other line will do, and so Ristos car smoke the tyres too. I was pedaling
4 times and at the end i win. The car goes sideway left and right. I knew
we could win when we was in the final.
It is because I have the best team in Europe and all believe in
what we do. I does´nt matter where we stand in the points list before the
last race.
I wish to send a special thank you to my whole team and a
special one to my crew Chief Robin Grice he will retire after 30 years. A
lot of my team members quit racing becasue it takes too many days off work
and sometimes the stress is too much and they need a break.

special Thank you to all my retrired guys! Car Team -
