NDRS Sportsman
Class Review
NitrOlympx

Gideon Liljegren - Super Gas one of the NDRS drivers that particpated at the HitrOlympx

The Nitrolympx 2011 were conteaining Super Gas, Super Comp, Competition, Pro Modified and Super Twin Top Gas classes from the NDRS classes. With a lot of rain, only two qualification rounds were completed for the sportsmanclasses and STTG. Unfortunately , the race was called to an end before the eliminations were completed , due to a local curfew.

The Pro Mod Class did four qualification rounds, ending with NDRS-serie leader Micke Gullquist running an 6.007 / 390,26 seven hundreds before Johan Lindberg. First round was made already on Saturday night and on the second, Johan lost traction and the race against Marc Meihuizen. When only the final to run, Gullqvist and Bruno Bader was the only remaining. This race will not be completed in Santa Pod (for the NDRS), so Bruno still has a chance for the eventual win in the NDRS, if he wins the event.

Halvor Överby -
normally in Super Street competed in Super Gas at Hockenheim

Competition: There was no Scandinavian teams participating in Hockenheim in this event, so the racers here could gain some “free” points in the serie. John Bradshaw (GB) took first postion with a 1.025 under index with Björn Lähndorf, Silvio Strauch and Robin Sattler for the next positions. All of them remained in the competition when the semifinals were called off due to the previous rain delay and curfew.

For the NDRS finals in Alastaro, Mika Eloranta has a safe lead, unless Mattias Stenström and/or Stig Olsson shows up there.

Super Comp: Noah Stutz was #1 with a 8,92 and was about to race for the final together with Gerd Habermann, Rene Kloss and Konrad Bayer. Mikael Nilsson, chasing for the no 1 spot in the series, lost in the first round resultning in no points to take home before the finals in Alastaro at the beginning of september. If Bo Ragnebro shows up there and qualifies, he will be more or less untouched for the win.

Super Gas: Apart from PM the most multinational field this weekend with racers from seven countries (no englishmen , though). Florian Übel no 1 qualifier (9,92) and Halvor Överby on the bump with his beautiful Opel Kapitän, normally driving in Super Street, racing in Germany for the first time. He made the first round, though, but no more rounds were raced. Before the final in Finland, Håkan “Strawhat” Mattsson, has a safe lead, unless Mats Karlsson shows up there…

Super Twin Top Gas: In the biggest field this year, filling up a 8-bike ladder, Anna Lena “Nasty Granny” Asplund, as always, hit the first spot after the qualifications. After the first elimination round, she remained, together with quailf.2 Stefan Andre , qualif.6 Bernd Niessen and qualif.4 Lando Beugelsdijk. Still a chance for André to threaten Anna Lena, depending on field size in Finland.
