Micke Kågered -
Top Fuel Dragster
Mikael Kågered had a great weekend at Hockenheimring’s Nitrolympx. He ran well in qualifying and improved with every run.
“We’ve been struggling with some lifters that weren´t right when they were delivered from the USA,” says Mikael, “but now we´re on track again. First round we had a bit of luck when Anita went up in smoke as we blew off the belt. Second round I got away very well but suddenly I saw something come flying back to me and I thought the engine was gone, but it was the front- and side-sheet that came loose. I’ve sent it to ME Racing Service so they can make a new one as they had already made this one. Otherwise, the round was very good. When that happened I was on a 3.80 time so I guess that if I’d held down I would probably have got a low 5sec run and that’s encouraging. We know we have a fast car that can run quick times but haven´t have the chance to show that. We´re now in sixth place in the Championship and it’s very tight. We´ll see what's happening with Tommy Jr.’s points. If he´s out, Timo Lehtimäki’s now leading with 178 points and we're just behind on 154. We have a good car that can win us the Championship. The Finals is going to be very tight and exciting.”
